Vehicle Description

The Land Rover G4 Challenge was kicked off in 2003 with an event which spanned across the United States, South Africa, and Australia, all in just 28 days. A total of 16 nations took part in the race to claim the first ever G4 Challenge title. Unfortunately, due to the global economic downturn in 2008, Land Rover decided to cancel the event scheduled for 2009 simultaneously ending the challenge series altogether.

This well-preserved 2004 Land Rover Discovery II G4 Challenge Edition, featured in Tangiers Orange over Black Mogul original leather is just 1 of 200 G4 Challenge cars produced. The interior is a 9/10, the only flaws being the driver's side sun visor which tends to flop now, the boots for the gearbox and handbrake's original synthetic leather appears to have been pealed almost all the way off, as well as small cracking along the driver's side seat left-hand lower bolster -- Otherwise the interior leather is original and the headliner looks fantastic. Also comes with the OEM rubber floor mat set. The Exterior looks fantastic, with minor sun damage to the roof and hood, as well as the fender arches and rear tire cover which has started to fade; A solid 7.5/10 made an 8.5/10 by the original OEM G4 Challenge sticker kit, only piece of which is the text above the windshield (which you can see previous placement of, via sun watermark in the paint.) The only other flaw is minor rust found underneath the rear of the car, unsurprisingly  as it spent most of its life on the East Coast. A truly fantastic edition to a collector's fleet, or the perfect daily head-turner for the City. It's without question that the Discoveries are the next inline to join the Defenders in the Classic Resto-Mod Revival category (And skyrocket in price)...

The car comes with its original service manuals, and two keys, as well as the original G4 Challenge Edition brochure, another rare item.

Most importantly, the vehicle has just undergone an extensive rebuild, as I wasn't happy with how it was performing when I received it. These engines are tough Oldsmobile blocks but some faults aren't worth trying to correct. The following work was done (See below) for a total of $10,020 -- something that will ensure the next owner doesn't need to bat an eye for another 150k+ miles.
